Safety on the Trails Please take a moment to look at the various grades of trail that are available at Wolftrax and select the trail that is appropriate for your skill level. If you are unsure of what level is suitable for you their are some taster sections that you can attempt next to the base car park that represents the type of riding you will encounter on the various grades of trail. Always ride within your abilities and assess trail features prior to riding them to ensure they are within your capabilities. Bike School If you are looking to develop your riding skills we now offer a bike school here at Wolftrax that offers skills coaching for beginner to expert. Visit the bike school web site for further information. Protective Equipment Always wear the appropriate protective equipment, the minimum we advise is a good fitting helmet and cycle gloves. Knee and elbow protection is also advisable and can be purchased or hired from the bike shop. Green Route - 4.8km This is the easiest of the trail network, the ride out is built to Sustrans specification, with a shallow fire road climb and a purpose built flowing singletrack return. Ideal for beginners, families and young children. Orange Bike Park - 3.6km This Novices can trundle or freewheel from top to bottom, but more skilled riders rip up this route and find a great selection of jumps, bumps and massive berms all the way down. Take advantage of the shuttle service when available that drops at the top of this trail. This trail is not advised for very young children or beginners. Red Route - 15.2km Designed to be fast and flowing , this recently extended trails is a fantastic experience in two sections, enjoyingly testing and rideable, this trail is fairly narrow with a large selection of built in features, some with opt out lines. Look out for Air;s Rock a Black graded slab feature which can be bypassed. Rock Causeways such as the Rib Rattler and natural rock features to keep the adrenaline pumping. The trail finishes with a 300 metre boardwalk (take care in the wet) leading onto the bottom section of the bike park to leave you with a massive grin on your face and an appetite for more. Black Route - 6.5km This trail is not one for the faint hearted, possibly the hardest purpose built trail in the UK. This is a demanding technical trail , it has a multitude of technical rock features, sizeable drop-offs, stone staircases, boulder fields and rock slabs. Features like the 40 metre long Devil's Chessboard, a technical rock fest that rewards the brave committed rider. It may take you a number of attempts to clean all the features on this trail but when you do it is a fantastic feeling of achievement. For the ultimate challenge ride it on a hardtail, then it's all about the riders skill and not how much travel your bike has.
